So you want to race do you? Thursday Night, 7:00PM, be there...Fall Leagues for points start...draw for your position, draw for your kart, Heat races, and work your way to the A Main...collect the points and go for a Championship, just like the real thing, but your driving our karts, ALL for $15....
We accept the 1st 40 drivers, so get here early!

It's FRIDAY!! For those of you that didn't get out here during the Nationals because it was too busy, now is your chance. Should be a bit slower so you will be able to take several turns around the famous 1/16 mile concrete. Good time to work on your line for leagues that start on the first Thursday in September at 7:00PM or just come out with some friends to get your adrenaline rush and see who is the best of the best of your group. We are also scheduling fall track rentals, so give us a call.

Pictures of the 2010 Nationals and 8th Annual Mini Nationals are posted on Slideways Karting Center Facebook. Almost 1000 pictures. I will attempt to get them posted to this website also again. Hope everyone had a great time out here and we will look forward to seeing most of you next year. Kevin and I are going to take a short break, and we will open next weekend back to regular schedule. 2010 Slideways Mini-Nationals crowned a new champion!

The Iowa Helicopter has been delayed a bit, but will be here soon. The track is busy, but not at capacity so come out and drive a kart!
For all of you interested in the pictures and results of the mini-nationals, bear with us. I have just been swamped with customers so I will get them all on Sunday. Check back. And again, thanks to everyone that has visited Slideways Karting Center.

The 8th annual Slideways Mini-Nationals 50 lap A main is set for Saturday morning at 8:00AM. It is free to watch and it should be exciting. The Iowa Helicopter had to cancel today due to the threat of rain, however, they WILL be here tomorrow to give flights over the Knoxville Raceway. Congrats to the Slideways Sprinter #2 SKIP JACKSON on his 3rd place finish in qualifying night last night. We are so proud to be locked into the A Main Saturday Night at the Knoxville Nationals!!!

45 of 48 Entries for Mini-Nationals!! We will take alternates cause 7:30AM is a little early for some. If they don't show by 8:00AM, you will be in!! Today we are open from 10AM until 1AM, unless we get those heavy storms again tonight. Our phone number is 641-828-6337.

The 2010 360 Nationals are over now, and the fans had a blast watching the awesome races at the Knoxville Raceway, and many came to Slideways to turn their own laps. Congrats to Shane Stewart on his win and thank you to all of those fans that came out. Here are some memories...

Tonight is the non-wing show at Knoxville! Have a great time and remember we are open after the races!
As of today we have 44 entries for the mini Nationals...the names and where they are posted on the mini-nationals page. We only accept 48, so for those late comers you can drop by Thursday morning to see if everyone shows. If they don't you may get in.
Special thanks to Billy Alley #22 for letting us get on board for his quest for his 3rd Nationals Championship! Also our own RJ Johnson #71 piloted his sprinter in his third 360 Nationals.
Congrats to SKIP JACKSON #2 in his 2nd place finish in the 410 Sprints last night!! Good Luck this week!!!!

Last Friday, Slideways hosted the 2010 TDS Fertilizer Nationals...this track rental came all the way from Minnesota, and we had a great time with these guys from up north. The weather didn't scare them off, and they crowned their own company champion. Take a look at these pics!

Here we go! The Nationals are just a couple days away. The Knoxville Raceway will host the 360's best of the best starting Thursday and we will give everyone the opportunity run your own race. We will open at 1PM on Wednesday!!! Can't wait to see you!

Mini-Nationals information has been updated. Any questions feel free to email us at slideways@iowatelecom.net....currently we have 31 pre-entries for August 12-14th. In the event that you are not able to get your entry in early, we will accept Alternates until 7:45AM Thursday Morning of the event, however, all paid entries will be locked in until 8:00AM. We will only accept 48 entries to race on Thursday Morning. Drivers meeting and pill draw will begin at 7:30AM August 12th. We encourage all race fans to come out and watch for free. Open racing will begin as quickly as we complete the Mini National format which is approximately 10AM.

The Australians have invaded Knoxville already and will have a great showing for the 50th Knoxville Nationals. Matt Dumesny, son of Max Dumesny, and Zach Greenhalgh gave Thursday night leagues a shot. His brother and dad are here preparing for the big money at Knoxville.

Summer Leagues come to an end finding a few regulars taking the trophies for May, June, and July. Look for these guys to run the Mini-Nationals!!! All the points are updated...Check them out on the Points page!!

There are no leagues for the month of August due to the 50th Knoxville Nationals...come out for the fall Leagues on Thursday nights starting in September.

John McLaughlin's Iowa Helicopter rides will be Friday and Saturday August 13th and 14th from 10AM - dusk. Bring a camera!

Points for the July Leagues are posted! Mother Nature just keeps throwing down the rain, but fortunately, it hasn't messed with racing! The track is still fast and slick. Hope you bring your driving skills, cause that is what it will take to keep from a spin out. Just a couple weekends left before the "MINI-NATIONALS"...better get those laps in or see if you have what it takes to be crowned the 2010 Mini Nationals Champion.

TWIN FEATURE NIGHT at Thursday Leagues!!! You could get right back in the points. Can we get 40 people to race??? Driver's meeting at 7:00PM, try to show up by 6:45PM...$15...for a night of racing our karts. Ask a racecar driver if that is cheap. Yeah, fuel cost more than that.

Another weekend coming to an end, and many have found the track slick and fast. We put down an enamel in the corners to get things back to SLICK. Come check it out. Unfortunately the weather has turned to rain once again on this Sunday. Track rentals are being scheduled left and right, and we are preparing for Mini Nationals once again. Get your entries in soon!!! Points for the year, and the monthly leagues are posted.

For those of you coming to the Harris Clash that was rained out this week and rescheduled for Thursday, WE ARE OPEN AT 1PM!!! Come get some laps in before you head to the Knoxville Raceway. We are part of the Knoxville EXPERIENCE.

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!!! THIS WEEK WE ARE OPEN SPECIAL HOURS BECAUSE OF THE HARRIS CLASH THAT IS RUNNING AT THE KNOXVILLE RACEWAY!!! COME OUT AND HAVE SOME FUN. NOT OFTEN YOU CAN RUN DURING THE WEEK.

OK...Rain delayed the finish of the C main...We will finish the twin feature before we start WEEK 4 this Thursday...Then progress to the 20 Lap A main and the May League championship. Come out an join us consider the forecast is calling for EXCELLENT weather. The points are posted for the first two weeks of racing on the Leagues page. Check it out.
NOW FOR SOME SERIOUS NEWS ABOUT 2010 NATIONALS WEEK.... we are trying to close a deal to hold the nationally sanctioned MOWER RACE NATIONALS at Slideways Karting Center...we need some feed back...would everyone like to see the top drivers come to Knoxville? Secondly, we are going to offer free tent camping at Slideways during the Nationals. Anyone interested. Contact us.

Week 2 Leagues had new drivers and veterans scrambling for the A main. Awesome races throughout the night resulted with Joe Halterman from Des Moines taking the checkers over Andy Peck of Newton and Tyler Brooks of Knoxville. Did we mention that it is free to watch? Come out next Thursday for twin feature night!!! Points will be on the line for the May League Championship going into the final weeks twenty lap A main on the 28th. Regular guys just livin' the dream. Come check it out.

Discount tickets for Slideways Night at the Knoxville Raceway will be available at Slideways next week...Stop in for a race with your friends, and then head to the Knoxville Raceway. Oh, for those that haven't been to the Sprint Car Hall of Fame in a while, check it out.

TRACK RENTALS ARE THE WAY TO GO!! Get 15 Friends together, and we can organize heat races, E, D, C, B, and an A MAIN....Crown a champion!!! We have a few scheduled, so call ahead to get your time penciled in.
CONGRATS to SKIP JACKSON on his 2nd place finish opening night of the Knoxville Raceway last Saturday Night in the SLIDEWAYS sponsored #2 410 Sprint car!!!! Tasker Phillips #7 had his hands full in the 305 and 360 class, but he will be a force this year, and RJ Johnson's #71, unfortunately didn't get his motor for the opening night, but will be really ready to race next week.

Its TRUE!! We are open for business!! Last weekend we saw a few customers, and so far this weekend we doubled those numbers. It isn't busy enough so get out and take some turns on the oval. For those of you that want to try the league format, come out to get some practice. We will start the points race the first Thursday in May at 7:00PM. You don't have to have experience, we will give you tips on racing, and within a couple weeks you can be running toward the front. A couple hours of racing fun for $15 in a format similar to the famous KNOXVILLE RACEWAY. We provide the kart, you just show up to race.
For the month of April we will open to the public Saturday and Sunday weather permitting at 1PM.

WE PASSED THE STATE of IOWA INSPECTION TODAY!!!! That means when mother nature quits playing games with us, the track will be open for business for the 8th Season!!! I have to give a hug pat on the back to Kevin, Dave, RJ, and Mark for their hard work getting things ready for the inspection. TV8 and John McLaughlin says rain and snow this weekend, so lets try for next weekend.

Finally getting some snow to melt. Yesterday we could see some concrete. Forecast is calling for rain all day and 40 degrees, so we may get a chance to move forward with getting the track ready within a couple weeks.
We have decided to give a special on track rentals....how about $100 off if you schedule your track rental before May 1st.
Give us a call. This rental price will be outside of regular open race schedules, and are blacked out for major races at the Knoxville Raceway. Kevin can give you the details. Get your friends together and make your own Nationals!!

Looks like we will have a few new kart sponsors for 2010 and some changes to existing karts...Kevin is working hard to get the karts ready, so as soon as the snow is gone...we will get the track ready to race. I know we can't wait to get rid of this cruel Iowa Winter, and do what we love....RACE!!! Look for a new look on the McKay Insurance/Peace Tree #46, and get ready to race the Knoxville Raceway #50, (the 50th Anniversary Knoxville Nationals kart).
