My Bad! Storms moved in yesterday afternoon, and it looked like
doppler would let it rain all evening...I cancelled Friday
night...Sorry about that cause it would have been a great night to
race. We'll make it up to you today!! We are open today at 10:00AM!!!
STOP BY on your way to the IOWA SPEEDWAY...you can see Kevin and the
Slideways Karting Center go-kart on Display just outside the suites.
Thursday night leagues was probably the best racing
action we have seen in some time for the twin feature night. We brushed
on a new EZ-Slide graphite solution in the turns and it works well!
Come out and drift the corners!! The league points are posted! Check em

RAIN, RAIN, RAIN!!
Unfortunately, we rained out today, but the weather is looking
good for Saturday. League Racing was in full swing last night
with Larry Geetings taking the win on week 2 of our June Leagues
putting him up to 4th in points. (CLICK

May winners with Jim Peck taking 1st, Joe Halterman in 2nd, and Don
Johnson coming in 3rd. (photo below left) Also, we had a
drawing for 4 tickets to the Iowa Corn Indy 250 race at the Iowa
Speedway. (Winners pictured below right.)

Slideways will be open extended
hours this weekend. Knoxville
Raceway
is Hosting the 8th Annual Iowa Telecom/Pepsi USAC Midget Nationals and
Master's Classic. We are open Friday from 1-10 pm, Saturday from
10 am
to Midnight, and Sunday from 1-7 pm.
Jim Peck claimed the title of May
2009 League Champion last night, but it didn't come easy. He had
to start at the back of the A-Main and work his way through the field
to get in front of front row starter Joe Halterman. Joe ended
2nd in points with Don Johnson 3rd. Click

WOW!!! What a week at Slideways Karting Center...Track Rentals,

The 3rd week of Leagues was fast too!! Twin Feature Night brought out a
big field of competitors, and the points are updated...there was a
shift from last week to this week, so check them out under the leagues
link. One more week to go for the Month of May, so you may want to come
out and tune up for June Leagues....we are going to try to split the
OPEN and KID classes, so come out and try your luck.

Slideways Karting Center Night at the Knoxville Raceway!!! Saturday,
May 16, 2009...we want to fill the stands, so we are offering a
1/2 price ticket to the races (limited first come, first serve) when
you buy 5 tickets at Slideways to race the sprint car replica go-karts.
Come to see the #2 Skip Jackson 410 sprint car and with him between
1:00pm and 3:30pm this Saturday! The NOS girls will also
be here...
WE WILL BE CLOSING AT 6:30 PM, so come out early.
Thursday night is League night where you can be the racer.
Come out and try your luck in organized racing action!!!

First full week in May is in the books, and we have had an action
packed week. The weather cooperated with us for the most, and we were
able to have a track rental and got the first week of Leagues
completed. The track was a little less than slick, but it was fast
(Next week will be better, cause Kevin and I worked on it this morning)
and we had 19 people out to race. Unfortunately there weren't enough
Kids that came out so the 5 that did checked there permits in for the
real deal and raced the OPEN League with the big boys. They held there
own against them too, but when it came to the A main, Joe Halterman,
from Des Moines, took the #3 Wacko's/Davis Excavating Sprint car
replica go-kart to the checkers. He had a lot of work to do considering
he came out of the D Main to do it.
The week also brought in our first 7 entries for the 2009 Slideways
Mini-Nationals...the most we have ever recieved so early. What does
that mean? It will fill very fast this year. We can only take 48 total
entries, so it looks like walk in's at the last minute during the 2009
Knoxville Nationals may be too late. If you are interested in PRE-ENTRY
